I must, however, mention that some parts of the continent don’t use many spices, but then you can be sure the food is rich.

Street food is an integral part of African cuisine. From Nigeria’s Suya to South Africa’s bunny chow and Kenyan Mutura, street food is cheap and delicious. One of my best though is the Ethiopian coffee on the streets because you get to enjoy the culture while sipping the best coffee.
If you want to sample African cuisine, go to the streets to try roast maize, viazi karai, plantain chips, roasted maize, kebabs, and samosas.

For Africans, there’s more to the food event because whether on the streets or in the house, it’s a way to bring people together for a conversation.
It’s time we gather for catchups, events, and even business events. Even traditionally, during the food times, our people came together for major talks too.

Vegetarian options are abundant in African cuisine. Many traditional African dishes are based on vegetables, legumes, and grains. We also have the conventional bitter leaves that we eat as veggies.
Vegetarian dishes may include Ethiopian injera with lentil stew, South African samp and beans, and West African groundnut soup are just a few examples of delicious vegetarian options in African cuisine.
While we like meaty meals, we also do have vegetarian options. We produce beans, veggies, mushrooms, and other meal options.

Millet is a small, gluten-free grain staple in many African countries. It is drought-resistant and can grow in poor soil conditions, making it an essential crop in Africa. Over the recent years, people have stopped cultivating millet, but it’s great to use in making different foods.

African tea and coffee are some of the best in the world. Tea is a popular beverage in North Africa, often served with mint and sugar.
In East Africa, we enjoy both tea and coffee. We, however, make mixed tea and not European tea. Our tea is called Chai.
